Palácio Galveias (Welcome reception) The Opening Session and Welcome Reception will be held at the gardens of the "Palácio Galveias", which is located only about 200m from Instituto superior Técnico, at "Campo Pequeno", Lisbon. This Palace was built by the order of the Távora family as a country house in the XVIIth century. Afterward it belonged to the Counts of Galveias and after that to a capitaklist from Lisbon. The Municipal Library of Lisbon is located at this Palace since 1931.
Helpers will help participants of IFSA-EUSFLAT 2009 to walk to the Palace after the end of the Tutorials. If you prefer to come by bus, line 56 takes you directly from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to Palácio Galveias. Please note that registration will not be available at Palácio Galveias. Please register earlier at Instituto Superior Técnico. Páteo Alfacinha (Conference Banquet) The conference banquet will be held at "Páteo Alfacinha" at Rua do Guarda Jóias, 44, Lisbon. Convenient buses will be available outside the door of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to take you to the banquet. These buses will also take you back to the main hotels of the Congress.
Buses will leave Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation at 18:30 and will give a small tour through downtown and Belém. The location is well known for its recreation of early 20th Century ambiance of typical Lisbon neighborhoods. No formal dressing code is required. Casual dressing recommended. |
